No interest!

Unfortunately I didn't get any interest in participating in this challenge so it is currently on hold! I suppose I will leave the blog up for a while and e-mail me if you'd like to participate. Thanks!

Our First Dusty Cookbook Challenge!

For April 2009, we are faced with our first Dusty Cookbook Challenge! Hopefully we get participation from all of you wonderful ex-Weekend Cookbook Challengers, and we're hoping that everyone is ready for a culinary adventure!

The Challenge Theme: Spring!

Spring is finally here (unless you're in the southern hemisphere..) and let's celebrate the end of winter by welcoming the fresh and light characteristic of the Spring Season.

Time to pull out those dusty cookbooks and thumb through to find a recipe that you've been meaning to try, and don't worry, we accept even the loosest interpretations of our theme. :)

I will be the host for our first challenge, so please e-mail me -- [kitchenbliss at gmail dot com] -- with a link to your Spring Dusty Cookbook Challenge blog post, and I will add it to our Round Up.

The Challenge Complete Date is Thursday, April 30th. Please e-mail me your completed challenge blog link by the end of the day, April 30th.

I will post the round-up shortly after the completion date, and we'll also have a new theme for the lovely month of May!

Contact me at the above address if you'd like to host one of these months. Hosting includes picking a theme, the complete date, and completing the round-up.

Happy Cooking!
-Anne

A Few Tiny Rules

1. It's easy to join the Dusty Cookbook Challenge! Read the post describing the current month's challenge (there will be a theme, a host, and complete date) and choose a recipe that is new to you, from one of your cookbooks (or magazines, websites, etc..) that you've been meaning to use

2. Try out your new recipe and blog about it, hopefully with a photo posted, and send your blog link to the Challenge Host (an e-mail address will be given) prior to the Challenge Complete Date

3. The host will compile all of the entries in a Challenge Round-Up for all of us to view and enjoy

4. Posting the recipe is not mandatory, and if you do, make sure to give credit to the source in your blog post

5. If you'd like to host the Dusty Cookbook Challenge one of these months, e-mail me at kitchenbliss at gmail dot com, and I will add you to the list! Hosting includes choosing the theme, the complete date, and posting the challenge round-up.

So, it's that easy!

Welcome!

Welcome to the Dusty Cookbook Challenge! After the well-loved Weekend Cookbook Challenges sadly came to an end, we needed another outlet for trying out new recipes from our ever-growing collection of cookbooks. As a dedication to Sara of WCC, here is a new food blog challenge: Dusty Cookbook Challenge!

I think that the idea Sara originally had was perfect: we must get those dusty cookbooks off the shelves and try new recipes. What better way to accomplish this than by blogging and sharing our experiences amongst friends every month? I have contacted Sara and we have her blessings to continue on, and maybe we'll even be lucky enough to see her from time to time!

Welcome to foodies, newbies, old hats, and hungry bloggers alike!
